We have always been told to balance everything in our lives and not to cross any limits. It is true that almost everything provided by nature has benefits but one should have the knowledge of how much quantity and of which quality should they have access to.

Just like in the case of food, everyone thought that potatoes make one fat as they are full of carbohydrates, however in a study; researchers looked at dieters eating low calories and high GI or low GI foods, where they also included a control group who had no calorie or GI restrictions. All the groups were told to eat five to seven servings of potato a week and then after 12 weeks all the people lost similar amounts of weight. Thus, rather than causing weight gain, potatoes actually help in weight loss, but only if not ate in excess.

Hail to this study or else we would have deprived ourselves from our favorite vegetable in the fear of gaining weight. But how do we get the knowledge for the ‘balanced diet’?

Every one of us have different metabolism and thus not all of us can follow the same diet plan, thus here we realize the important role of nutritionist.
